Presentation

Alianza is a coalition of two parties:Uni�n C�vica Radicaland Frente Pa�s Solidario(FREPASO).

The Alianza coalition was formed by the U.C.R. and the FREPASO, and other small parties. It won the elections of 1997 and 1999, but during the times of President Fernando De la R�a the _Alianza_�broke� when Vice-president Carlos �Chacho� �lvarez quit the government (2000). Then a lot of members of the Alianza started to change to other politic parties. Nowadays, there are politicians from the U.C.R. and from the FREPASO in Argentine politics, but the Alianza coalition disappeared.

The Alianza disolved "de facto" when the then Vice-President Carlos Alvarez quit the government, however there was never an "official" disolution of the coalition. So the "life" of the Alianza could be considered as 1997-2000 or 1997-2001 if we take the end of Fernando De la R�a Presidency in December 2001.

About the flag

In the 1997 and 1999 elections the flag of the Alianza was very popular in _Alianza_�s political meetings. However this flag (as the Alianza coalition itself) has disappeared of nowadays Argentina�s politics.

The "A" of the word "Alianza" recalls a ribbon with the Argentine National Colors. These �Argentine� ribbons (as much as Argentine cockades) are worn by people in Argentina during Celebrations as Flag�s Day, 25 de Mayo Celebration, Independence Day, _San Mart�n_�s Day, etc.

This is a variant of the flag of the Alianza. It is the common �**Unnofficial variant of the Argentine Flag�** with the logo of the coalition instead of the sun.
